At Colorado Freedom Project, we are united around the common experience of yoga having changed our lives for the better; this is what we aim to share with the populations that we serve.
Yoga - moving with the breath - has a very transformative power because it allows us to get out of our thinking brain, and to connect with our true nature and self. Throughout our day, our experiences and conversations pile on top of one another and our brain is inclined to continue to scan over these moments even after they have passed. A lot of time, we don't even realize this is happening.
When you have experienced trauma or are undergoing healing, quieting this scanner down becomes a top priority. We can not find peace until we connect with our true selves, our inner being.
You will find our teachers in correctional facilities, recovery centers, working with youth and in domestic violence resource centers. We maintain a chain of connections with non-profits and professionals who are dedicated to bringing more light into dark places.
